Vzpomínám si, že ten den kdy jsme šli na horu v pohoří Lebombo bylo velmi vlhko a kluzko, ale každý jsme se nakonec v té mlze nahoru dostali bez zranění. Cestou dolů jsme párkrát spadli, ale nic vážného. Nejsem si jist, jak na tom tyto rostliny jsou dnes, ale doufám, že stále stejně. Jak vidíte z fotografií, nedostatkem semen netrpí. Šištice jsou sbírány zahradnictvím v místní komunitě a semenáčky pak prodávány za velmi nízké ceny. Přinejmenším tak to bylo v době, když jsem lokalitu navštívil.

I recall it was a very misty morning going up the Lebombo mountain – a bit slippery, but everyone managed to get up there unscathed… the way down, ended up with a few missteps but nothing serious – I am not sure what the current status of these plants are, but I hope it is still the same – as you can see no shortage of seeds! The cones are collected by the local community’s nursery where they raise the plants and sell to the public at very cheap prices – well that was the process at the time – not sure as to what has happened in the mean time… assuming that is still the case.
